Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What exactly are these Diet Types?
A. Diet Types are based on the identification of personality types. Just as each one of us is either right or left-handed, everyone also has a certain personality type.
The personality type system originated from the work of Carl Jung, a Swiss psychoanalyst, and was later refined by Katherine Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Myers. Myers and Briggs adapted Jung's theory and devised the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®).
Later, psychologist David Keirsey distilled the work of Myers and Briggs by grouping the sixteen MBTI® personality types into four main personality temperaments, or what I refer to as Diet Types.
More than a million people each year take personality tests to help them find the right job or career match, and it is used online to help find the right love match. I use this proven method to help people find the right diet and health approach.
Q. Is it possible to be a Diet Type combo?
A. Yes we all have each of the four Diet Types in us to varying degrees, but most people can relate to one of them more than the others. However, there are some people who find that they're a combination of two types, while others relate strongly to three of them and on occasion, there's a woman who will find she connects with all four equally. I provide information in the Diet Type series so you know exactly what to do for your unique combination.
Q. Do different Diet Types need different foods?
A. Absolutely not!
While many weight loss plans want you to believe that eating specific combinations of foods or nutrients will help you lose weight faster and burn fat more efficiently, or that different foods work better for different people depending on their physiological make-up, that's just not true.
You need a weight loss approach that is not only healthy and balanced, but also a good fit for you personally.
Q. How do you know if the Diet Type series is right for you?
A. Diet Types is a good fit for you:
- If you would like to put an end to overeating and dieting once and for all.
- If you want to build a healthy lifestyle and understand your issues with overeating.
- If you want to use your unique personal strengths to help you lose weight or stay healthy, rather than fighting to fit into a diet program that doesn't work for you.
